Develops and maintains financial reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, controls, compliance, and regulation. Analyzes financial results and provides management with an understanding of the company's financial performance and the financial effect of business plans and strategies.
Overall accountability for month-end close processes in accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Develop and implement accounting processes in line with the Company’s strategic growth plan and Company’s standard practices and policies.
Builds and maintains strong partnerships with the Company’s CEO and other internal business partners.
This is a hybrid role – working three days per week at the Company’s headquarters in Goshen, California.
- Meets all deadlines for estimates, period end financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, and financial analysis
- Responsible for maintaining the integrity of accounting system information to ensure accurate accounting and risk reporting
- Develop a solid understanding of the company’s proprietary trading p/l system and other internally developed software that interacts with accounting systems
- Supports the Company’s FP&A, credit, and tax/compliance departments
- Lead the Company’s year-end financial audit and maintain a strong relationship with external auditors
- Provides support to business managers, facility managers, and facility administrative staff
- Establish and maintain a positive and effective relationship with the commercial team to create a strong business partnership between the commercial and financial functions
- Prepare ad-hoc reporting and participate in special projects on an as-needed basis
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of accounting policies, procedures, and practices to resolve complex accounting issues.
- Identify and execute opportunities for efficiency and automation
- Ability to perform job duties with little management oversight
o Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
o CPA certification preferred but not required
o 10+ years of related experience in financial accounting
o Experience in a similar role with a company involved in commodity merchandising/manufacturing
o Strong understanding of trading P&L, mark to market accounting and cost accounting
o Experience with Agris or a similar accounting system
o Strong interpersonal skills to drive projects with a diverse group of internal stakeholders
o Ability to implement processes and train others
o Strong understanding of US GAAP
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Excel
o Accuracy and keen attention to detail
o Flexibility to adapt / adjust to changing circumstances
The pay range for this position is $200,000-$220,000/year.
