Overview

The Project Manager will develop project plans to ensure projects are completed within scope, time, and budget. This role is accountable for projects being delivered efficiently with consistency in results. The position requires extensive facilitation of and collaboration with the cross-functional groups including Sales, Transportation, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Finance, IT, and other teams, as appropriate. The Project Manager is expected to understand the company’s strategic goals and initiatives, the current state of the business, and the internal business processes to ensure projects are addressing the most critical needs of the business.

 

This role is ideally a hybrid role which includes working at least 3 days per week in our main office located in Goshen, CA to foster better collaboration, connection, and innovation.

 

The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $145,000 with additional earning potential.  The Company offers insurance coverage that includes medical, dental, vision as well as 401(k) with employer match.

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate/lead multiple projects of med-high complexity utilizing Project Management best practices.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver results by having the ability and open mindset to use different project management techniques as required (Daily Huddle, Kaizen, Agile, focused problem solving, etc.)
  • Apply a structured planning approach and analysis to autonomously lead initiatives while evaluating progress, establishing project timelines and ownership, identifying measures of success, and ensuring results are realized.
  • Execute on various daily, weekly, and monthly tasks that are crucial to the advancement of the project including: scoping and executing programs, adjusting program strategy as needed and providing regular cadence of updates to senior leadership, acting as a business lead for projects when required.
  • Collaborate with leaders from the business, development, and operations across Western Milling to continually identify data-driven opportunities, build cross-functional buy-in and commitment and deliver on innovative solutions to challenging operational problems.
  • Understand the goals and initiatives of the overall business and be proactive in ensuring that they are addressed in each project.
  • Develop, monitor, and control project schedules with proactive risk mitigation and issue resolution.
  • Help resolve conflicts between competing priorities of various functions and escalate to leadership when needed in a timely manner.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks and roadblocks within a program.
  • Takes corrective actions as required to deliver complete scope, at desired quality, cost targets, on time and within budget for own projects. Effectively manage scope creep as needed.
  • Lead process improvement efforts that can benefit areas across the business.
  • Help ensure project deliverables and tasks are appropriately resourced.
  • Assess, gain team consensus, and communicate project status to Senior Management
  • Facilitate communication across all business functions and external partners.
  • Maintain strong relationships and trust throughout organization by building a cross-functional network of peers and leaders.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and upkeep of standard project management processes, reports, and tools.
  • Direct and manage staff as project needs require including interns.

Qualifications

  • Broad supply chain experience, such as supply planning, demand management and forecasting, logistics and channel operations management.
  • Experience with Problem Solving Methodologies & Value Stream Designing.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically with a hands-on spirit.
  • Advanced conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to convey and communicate complex concepts simply and clearly.
  • Six Sigma Belt certification, Lean Sigma certification, or Lean experience.
  • Broad business understanding and ability to apply to current issues.
  • Food and or Agriculture experience.

  • High degree of ownership and initiative.
