Overview

This position is responsible for processing of credit applications, credit references, setting up new accounts, credit holds, cash/check application, and resolving disputes for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Credit:
    • Credit Applications – process and obtain credit references, verification of corporate status and review UCC filings to allow the Credit Manger to open an account, establish terms of sale and set the appropriate credit limit within three working days of receipt of a credit application.
    • Special Projects as assigned by Credit Manager.
    • Credit Holds – monitor and communicate with the dispatch when loads are ok to release in accordance with release conditions for each account.
      • Enter information onto the tracking spreadsheets.
      • Monitor tracking spreadsheets.
  • Cash / Check Application for WM and Sack:
    • Post deposits to A/R.
    • Determine and apply payments as customer intended.
    • Resolve short/over pays.
    • Resolve all payments / credits in unapplied.
    • Filing.
  • Customer Service:
    • Hold postdated checks and deposit on correct date. Make sure payments are applied correctly.
    • Research skipped invoices, short pays and customer inquiries.
    • Resolve customer questions and disputes.
    • Follow-up to make sure credits are issued and payments are made.
    • Monitor assigned accounts for payment within terms allowed.
    • Update/change delivery instructions printed on weigh certificate.
  • Legal Accounts:
    • Prepare account for placement with attorney or collections agency.
    • Update collections/legal tracking spreadsheets.
    • Update account information to indicate legal account.
    • Assist with legal accounts in assigned area.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma is required.
  • A year or more of college preferred.
  • Credit experience preferred.
  • Dairy experience preferred.

Skills

  • Must be highly-detail oriented and systematic – extremely process driven.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to tell customers “no” in a diplomatic and tactful way.
  • Must present a professional and polished image via phone.
  • Must have strong math skills – be number oriented.
  • Strong understanding of A/R process.
  • Strong and rapid decision making ability.
  • Able to handle difficult or challenging A/R situations with diplomacy, tact and professionalism.
  • Must be nearly at the expert level in Microsoft Excel.
  • Task oriented and able to implement specific projects that show results.

Physical Requirments

  • Must be able to perform repetitive motion and fine manipulation tasks for long intervals of time.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Regularly moves items weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee may be exposed to very dusty and noisy conditions.
  • The employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • The employee may be exposed to chemicals used in the process.

 

The pay range for this position is up to $23.75/hr depending on experience.  The Company offers insurance coverage that includes medical, dental, vision as well as 401(k) with employer match.
