This position will be responsible for moving trailers (single hopper, double hoppers, vans and reefers) on site at Perfection Pet Foods.  

• Drive commercial truck and trailer (hopper “belly dump” doubles, dry vans and reefers), transferring raw materials and/or finished product for Perfection Pet Foods' operations.
• Unloads trailers of raw materials or finished products.
• Moves and unloads trailers that are on Perfection Pet Foods' property.
• Communicates directly with operations to ensure correct product is being transported to the correct facility at the correct time.
• Ensures trailer is clean and shut properly to prevent the loss or spill of product.
• Housekeeping duties as necessary to include sweeping, cleaning and sanitizing.
• Inspects transport equipment to determine that it is in good operating condition, reports needs for maintenance as needed, and ensures that preventive and routine maintenance is performed.
• On some occasions drivers may be asked to move reefer, dry van or hopper trailers from facility to facility (drop and hook).
• Participates in safety, health and environmental programs.
• Be available for weekends, holidays, and overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis as required.
• Sign and verify delivery and receiving certificates, delivery tickets, and freight bills and ensure that all proper documentation is returned to Scalehouse for processing by Accounting.

• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year driving commercial trucks and operating forklift preferred.
• Experience operating a terminal tractor/spotter truck/''yard dog'' required.
• Experience loading and unloading commercial trailers preferred.
• Experience working in a feed mill or manufacturing environment preferred.

• Must exhibit a high attention to detail.

• Must have strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Must take pride in cleanliness and accuracy of work performed.
• Must be able to read and write in English and have excellent recordkeeping skills.

• Must be able to lift and/or move 60 lbs on a regular basis.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevations of 100 ft.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
• The employee will be regularly exposed to dusty and noisy conditions.
• The employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
• The employee may be exposed to chemicals used in the process.
