Overview

This position is responsible for oversight of key accounting functions and providing financial guidance and support for the Company, under the direction of the Company’s CFO.  

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Participate in generating business metric reports on a routine basis.
  • Drive the month-end closing process including monthly corporate balance sheet reconciliation responsibilities.
  • Product margin analysis as needed.
  • Verify, allocate and post details of business transactions to accounts and sub-accounts.
  • Oversee proper reconciliation and balancing of accounts. Research and correct errors.
  • Controls review for Company.
  • Inventory processes review for Company.
  • Extract data in the most efficient manner possible to compile reports showing real-time information in a relevant and user-friendly format.
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the Finance/Accounting functions to drive efficiency and allow more time for value-added activities.
  • Prepare reports and information for external auditors and management as requested.
  • Extract data from the enterprise system for automated and ad hoc reporting.
  • Be involved in doing inventory verification audits.
  • Be involved in company asset verifications such as contract, fixed asset or accounts receivable reviews.
  • Forecasting for Company.
  • Assist with annual budgeting process.
  • Budget reporting and support including capital expenditures.
  • Participate in systems integration and implementation.
  • Work closely with division, department and senior managers to provide greater clarity into expenses and earnings on a monthly basis.
  • Work with accounting firm to maintain tax calendar and file quarterly/annual tax returns.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of recent public or private accounting experience required; professional auditing experience desired.
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP required.
  • Experience in a start-up and highly entrepreneurial environment preferred.
